Wildfires continue to spread across south Wales

Firefighters have been working overnight and into Tuesday morning at a number of wildfires across the region. Wildfires are continuing to burn in Blaenavon, Ferndale, Pengarnddu, Llangynidr, and Rogerstone. The blazes are burning as another burst of summer heat is set to sweep across the country in the coming days.

It was reported on Monday that another wildfire at Llangynidr Reservoir near Ebbw Vale was considered to be under control, but South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service remain at the scene.

Those who live near any of the impacted areas are being advised to keep all windows and doors closed due to the smoke.
