The 2nd week of Johnny Depp’s characterassassination claim versus his previous spouse Amber Heard concluded with members of the jury being revealed video and audio of the star’s supposedly violent episodes.
Mr Depp was seen to be knocking kitchenarea cabinets closed and putting himself a big glass of redwine in one clip priorto appearing to endedupbeing angry at being shot by Ms Heard.
The star, using a feathered hat and dark sunglasses, likewise appears to hurt himself as he swears and kicks out at pieces of furnishings.
Mr Depp, who rejects physically abusing Aquaman star Ms Heard, on Thursday confessed he had “assaulted a couple of cabinets”.
In another audio recording, Ms Heard can be heard consistently stating “please wear’t hurt yourself” as Mr Depp threatens to cut himself with a knife.
The proof was produced on day 3 of Mr Depp’s statement at the trial in Virginia, throughout which a series of graphic and violent text messages he had sentout about Ms Heard were likewise revealed to the court.
In a 2013 text discussion Mr Depp stated to star Paul Bettany: “Let’s burn Amber.
“Let’s drown her priorto we burn her. I will fher scorched remains lateron to make sure she’s dead.”
Much of the proof heard so far at the trial hasactually made referral to his usage of compounds while the 2 were together, which Ms Heard’s attorneys argued had activated violent episodes.
Mr Depp formerly affirmed that Ms Heard’s behaviour had “inspired” him to usage compounds and stated she had not been “supportive” of his tries at sobriety.
In a lateron discussion with Mr Bettany, likewise revealed to the court, the star stated he had intoxicated “all night” priorto choosing up Ms Heard to fly to Los Angeles.
“Ugly, mate… No food for days… Powders… Half a bottle of Whiskey, a thousand red bull and vodkas, tablets, 2 bottles of Champers on airplane,” the message read.
Before proving the video, audio and text messages, Ms Heard’s attorney Benjamin Rottenborn asked Mr Depp if he lived up to the requirements of a “southern gentleman”.
“When you have deep, deep roots in the south… you’re raised to be a southern gentleman, that is to state when chivalry was still alive and permitted,” Mr Depp reacted.
“I think I do (live up to the requirements), I have definitely done my finest all my life.”
He lateron confessed that he had experienced times where he had “strayed” from such requirements and stated that it was a “normal, primal” thing to haveactually done.
The star is takinglegalactionagainst Ms Heard for libel over a 2018 shortarticle she composed in The Washington Post, which his attorneys state wrongly suggests he physically and sexually mistreated her.
On Wednesday, Mr Rottenborn advised Mr Depp that the claim was not being brought over anything the starlet herself hadactually done previous to composing the shortarticle.
Mr Depp will continue providing proof when the trial at Fairfax County District Court continues on Monday.
