Russia: Gas pipeline explodes in Chuvashiya
Russia shelled the centre of Kherson on Saturday morning, killing at least 7 people and injuring 26.
Among the injured was a six-year-old girl, who was reported to be in a serious condition.
The Kherson region governor Yaroslav Yanushevych wrote on his Telegram channel: “The girl was taken to hospital with multiple shrapnel wounds.”
He also added that the region was shelled 74 times with artillery and condemned Russia’s targeting of civilians.
Mr Yanushevych said: “These are not military facilities, this is not a war according to the rules.
“It is terror, it is killing for the sake of intimidation and pleasure.”

At least 20 dead after entire floor of illegal care home engulfed in flames in Russia
A huge blaze at an “illegal” care home for the elderly in Russia has killed at least 20 people and injured six.
The fire broke out in a two-storey wooden building in the Siberian city of Kemerovo overnight on Friday.
The entire top floor of the building was engulfed in flames, as the fire spread quickly and coveres 180 square metres.
Multiple firefighters and emergency crews were sent to the scene of the deadly fire.
The blaze was eventually extinguished in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Kremlin explains Putin’s words about imminent end of war
Dmitry Peskov has clarified comments made on Thursday by Vladimir Putin to dispel any notion that peace negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow maybe imminent.
The Russian President said on Thursday he wanted to end the war “as soon as possible”, sparking hopes of a negotiated settlement to the 10 month conflict.
However, the Kremlin’s spokesman said that Putin had been referring to fulfilling his military goals in Ukraine.
He said: “There are no previous contacts regarding negotiations.
“Of course, any conflict ends at the negotiating table.
“It is primarily about ending the special military operation as soon as possible by achieving the goals that the Russian Federation sets for itself”.

Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin faces smear campaign by powerful enemies among Kremlin elite
Yevgeny Prigozhin is the head of the Wagner Group, a private military contractor that has deployed thousands of soldiers to Ukraine.
An old video of Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin has surfaced online which is reportedly been uploaded to bring him down, a news report has claimed.
According to the Times, crime boss Sasha Kurara claimed that Prigozhin had performed oral sex on him and other inmates in an expletive-strewn online video.
Mr Kurara claimed: “He knew his place and he agreed to his place.
“He is a fg ft, a petukh, and anyone who goes into Wagner is a ft too.”

Volodymyr Zelensky sends festive message to ‘friends’ UK after slick Rishi Sunak video
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has shared a warm festive message with the UK as he sent Christmas wishes ahead of December 25.
Mr Zelensky’s response came after UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak tweeted a short video, with the message: “This Christmas, we’re with you Ukraine.”
Responding to Mr Sunak’s video, the Ukrainian leader tweeted: “I’m grateful to Rishi Sunak and the entire British people!
“We feel your support. We feel the light and the warmth of your hearts.
“Light always prevails over darkness.
“Thus together, we will defeat evil and restore peace in Ukraine, Europe, and the world.
