Shawn Levy is to direct the Netflix de-ageing film ‘Backwards’.
The streaming huge dominated in a competitive fight to adjust the narrative from mom and kid duo Julianna Baggott and Finneas Scott into a function movie.
The movie centres on a passing away daddy who selects an approach to extend his life that includes reverse aging in a de-ageing center, with his separated child selected to be his caretaker.
As the years remove the male, the set have the ability to get to the bottom of where their relationship failed as the daddy relives memories of various parts of his life and experiences that made him an unlikeable individual.
Shawn and Dan Cohen are set to produce the film for the director’s 21 Laps Entertainment banner with Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell tapped to produce for Safehouse.
Baggott will act as an executive manufacturer together with Brendan Deneen and Josh Stanton for Blackstone Publishing.
Shawn directed the hit motion picture ‘Free Guy’ in 2015 and discussed how he understood that Taika Waititi would be best to play the movie’s bad guy Antwan over a FaceTime call.
The 53- year-old filmmaker remembered: “During that FaceTime, he should have altered positions in his workplace 30 times in under 30 minutes; relaxing backwards or upside down on his sofa, dancing on his feet, sitting cross-legged an Zen-like in the middle of the flooring.
” I understand that is a real unicorn of a character and how ideal for the bad guy in the motion picture. Taika is such a special, distinctive and wonderful private and he brings all of that, and I have provided him a great deal of leash to keep up it as Antwan.”
