Some cracking games to come in the Premier League today.

It might well be all eyes on Anfield but the three supporting acts aren’t bad at all.

                            • Chelsea vs Aston Villa – 1.30pm

                          • Read how Arsenal moved second in the table last night

Arsenal’s Men In Black destroyed West Ham with dark arts, ruthless calm and flashes of deadly beauty.

And Julen Lopetegui’s team must wish the Gunners also had the magic Neuralyzer gadget from the Will Smith films to wipe this Hammer house of horror show from their memory.

But no-one who witnessed it will ever forget a half of football that made Hollywood’s best attempt to do football, Escape To Victory, look realistic.

Only three times before has the Premier League come up with a script featuring seven goals in the opening 45 minutes.

When the first four of them went to Arsenal, a significant number of home fans headed for the exits.

                          • Paying the penalty

Bournemouth striker Justin Kluivert became the first player in Premier League history to score three penalties in a single game.

Mind-boggling stat, I definitely thought that must have already happened.

Yesterday, Evanilson won two of those three penalties – which takes his tally of penalties won to five already this season.

Andoni Iraola told Premier League Productions: “This season he Evanlison has won five penalties and we have scored four. That says a lot about him. He was the difference maker today.

“It is very difficult to score three penalties in one game. Justin is someone who gives us a lot, also without the ball. He is someone who understands we need his work-rate. He is giving the team a lot.”

                          • In case you missed it

Just on Wolves and Gary O’Neil, it appeared the pressure was all too much from the stands for keeper Jose Sa.

Sa was restrained by security after rowing with his own fans as one supporter was escorted out of the stadium.

Gary O’Neil’s men trailed Bournemouth 3-1 at half-time when the incident occurred at Molineux.

Sa, whose Wolves side went on to lose 4-2, walked around the goal he had been defending in the first half and proceeded to point and shout at someone in the crowd.

Security held him back as they attempted to prevent the Wolves shot-stopper from getting any closer. A fan in a Wolves shirt was then seen being escorted out by security.

                          • ‘Not good enough’

Under fire Wolves boss Gary O’Neil says his side were ‘well below the level’ they’d shown in a recent mini-resurgence.

He told Premier League Productions: “Not good enough. It was well below the level we’ve managed to reach in the last four. We made it really difficult with the errors and the game became a chase.

“The start of the game, the first goal we concede, it’s a big set-back. We gave away two back passes and we didn’t need to play backwards in those moments.

“We expect better than that. We should be able to make simple passes and good decisions with the ball. Today it snowballed on us. We kept on giving chances and making bad decisions.”

                          • ‘A dream’

Thomas Frank admits he’s ‘glad he picked Kevin Schade’ after the forward’s hat trick and assist.

He told Sky Sports: “Three goals and an assist. It’s a dream number for any offensive player. I’m so, so happy for him because he’s another young man that wants to do the best he can to perform.

“He’s had the injury last season, started the season well, and now everything he hit today went in. Very good finishes. Fantastic assist and glad I picked him.

“I think I have some good challenges because I have a lot of good offensive players that want to play. We went very offensive today. We played with four wingers and strikers plus the number 10 in Mikkel Damsgaard but because all of them play high up they worked very hard.”

                          • Very least

Oliver Glasner reckons his side’s late goal to snatch a point was the very least they deserved.

He told Match of the Day: “It was so deserved. We’re a little bit disappointed because we would have deserved the win today. Keeping Newcastle on one shot – it was an unbelievable performance.

“We have to blame ourselves that we didn’t take those chances. With Newcastle’s pace in attack, you always have to take care that you don’t get [hit on] transition situations. Everyone deserved the equaliser.

“We feel we deserve a bit more this season.”

                          • ‘Really gutting’

Eddie Howe was downbeat when confessing Palace’s late goal was ‘reallly gutting’.

The Newcastle boss was hoping for a reaction to his side’s defeat to struggling West Ham, only for his side to fail to register a shot on target in the draw.

He told Match of the Day: “It was a strange game. We didn’t have any goalmouth action, but I felt we were good in the game. I felt we nullified them pretty well. In the main, I think we controlled it pretty well.

“It’s really gutting to concede the goal at the end. I felt like we’d weathered the storm and would see the game out. We defended crosses well, but one moment cost us today. In [our last] two games, we’ve let a lot of points slip.”

                          • Hat trick hero

Kevin Schade admits he’s relieved to have scored a hat trick today after a personally difficult time.

He told Sky Sports: “I’m very pleased. Difficult time for me recently. I’m even more happy now I’ve scored the hat-trick.

“I was most pleased with the last goal. My first hat-trick in my whole career. So happy. I’ve been sad recently and everyone tries to push me. The team, the fans. Working really hard, extra sessions in the gym.

“To be fair, we would expect this game to be tough. They are aggressive like us. Great to score four goals.”

                          • Looking forward

Conor Coady admitted Leicester are in a ‘dark place’ at the moment and looking forward to new boss Ruud van Nistelrooy coming in.

He told Sky Sports: “We weren’t good enough. We’re conceding too many goals and not creating enough chances.

“We’re in a bad place but only us can get ourselves together. We’re in a dark place at the moment.

“We’ve got to pull ourselves through it and look at ourselves in the mirror. We’ve got to look at ourselves, we’ll see new manager in training tomorrow.

“We’re looking forward to it. Having a new manager come in and show us where we need to get better. We’ve been here before and we have to responsibility and try to get better.”

Another Arsenal penalty and another goal.

This time Bukayo Saka gets on the scoresheet.

                          • 36 – GOAL! West Ham 0-4 ARSENAL

Kai Havertz gets in on the action and it’s getting a bit silly!

                          • 34 – GOAL! West Ham 0-3 Arsenal

Martin Odegaard makes it three from the spot!

                          • 27 – GOAL! West Ham 0-2 ARSENAL

So, so poor from West Ham but sublime from Arsenal.

Saka and Odegaard combine expertly and the former rolls the ball along the six-yard box for Trossard to tap home unchallenged.

                            This could get ugly.

                          • Just happy

On learning he was now in the Premier League history books, Justin Kluivert beamed: “That sounds beautiful. To go in the history books, that’s amazing, super happy with it.”

Speaking to Premier League Productions, he added: “I train them. We have a great keeper with Kepa. We try some stuff, the first one I stop, and look at the keeper, what is he doing? I switch it up for the second one. Then the third, he doesn’t know what I’m going to do. I waited and he chose for me. Easy as that.

“We have shown we can beat a lot of teams in this league. I am happy.”

                          • 10 – GOAL! West Ham 0-1 ARSENAL

A set-piece goal for the Gunners again!

West Ham are soft as you like in defending it as Saka swings a cross in from the right.

GABRIEL finds himself unmarked eight yards out and plants the header into the bottom corner.

                          • Late game underway

By the way, we’re up and running with our live blog from tonight’s game.

West Ham vs Arsenal is underway – follow along LIVE.

                          • Full time from Graham Hill at Molineux

Where do I start?  Justin Kluivert is the first player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick of penalties in a single match, with teammate Evanilson also the first to win three penalties in the same game in the competition.

Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa ended up in a row with his own fans in the seats – the Portuguese gave away two penalties – and the home fans sang to Gary O’Neil that he was ‘getting sacked in the morning’.

After all that, Bournemouth earned a commanding 4-2 win – but Wolves will be wondering where they go from here after sliding back into the bottom three.

                          • Full time views of Graeme Bryce at the City Ground

Chris Wood smashed home a second-half penalty to carve out his place in Forest folklore.

The Kiwi striker’s old-fashioned thunderbolt from the spot left Arijanet Muric helpless as the striker drew level with Bryan Roy as Forest’s top Premier League scorer on 24 goals.

That is a fabulous return for the much-travelled 32-year-old who was seen by many as an uninspiring signing when he arrived from Newcastle for a bargain £15million.

However the veteran hitman has now scored 15 goals in 18 appearances for club and country this season.

That is an astonishing return and there was never a hint of doubt in Forest fans minds that he would score when he was put on the spot.

Ipswich matched Forest for the first 45 minutes but they faded badly as the game became bogged down after Wood’s winner.

Security held him back as they attempted to prevent the Wolves shot-stopper from getting any closer. A fan in a Wolves shirt was then seen being escorted out by security.

We try some stuff, the first one I stop, and look at the keeper, what is he doing? I switch it up for the second one. Then the third, he doesn’t know what I’m going to do.
