There’s a hidden hero warning drivers of the dangers which lie in wait upon their roads.
Yes, it’s another of the many myriad cases where a road is falling to bits and someone has taken it upon themselves to daub the tarmac with some messages in the hopes that it’ll help.
Now there’s another ‘artist’ who has has been making merry with the paint pot as residents of the village of Murrow, Cambridgeshire, noticed that some artwork had appeared on a road over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
The artist, as you can see, has taken pains to point out a ‘very big hole’ on Murrow Lane, which is likely to be very unpleasant to drive over for motorists.
Nobody knows who this person is but their warnings are very welcome for the local community, as the Cambs News reports that a number of drivers have fallen foul of the pothole.
They also report that the hole in the road was flagged to the council ‘months ago’ and were told it could take ‘up to three months to fix’.
Someone else said they’d hit the hole while driving and another explained they’d ‘burst my tyre’ while driving over it.
With all that in mind, it’s no wonder some mystery person has decided to point out the pothole to motorists in the hopes that they can prevent another catastrophe until the issue is fixed.
At the very least they haven’t made their message rude like some of the others, not a single painted phallus or etched expletive joke in sight, just an absolutely massive warning.
Cambridgeshire County Council are responsible for maintaining the roads in the area and have said that the pothole will be repaired on Wednesday.
That’ll be good news, especially as there are some spots where people have become so sick of a lack of action that they’ve sorted it themselves.
