Jeremy Renner will star in a brand-new film about the opioid epidemic.
The 51-year-old star will depict David Armstrong, the Pulitzer-prize winning investigative reporter who assisted expose the Sackler household and Purdue Pharma’s links to the crisis, according to Deadline.
Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly will compose and direct the untitled task, which is being produced by Julie Yorn, Patrick Walmsley and David C. Glasser.
In a series of shortarticles, Armstrong exposed how the Sackler household had strongly marketed Purdue’s painreliever OxyContin, which contributed to the opioid epidemic that eliminated more than 450,000 Americans over the past 20 years.
