Celtic have amassed 92 points from their 33 league matches so far as the league enters the home stretch following its split into two.
Rangers are 13 points behind Ange Postecoglou’s men with just five matches still to play, meaning a win at Tynecastle on Sunday afternoon would secure a league title with four games to go, and the added bonus of a guard of honour at Ibrox.
The reigning champions dropped points at home for the first time this season in their final match before the split, coming in a 1-1 draw against eighth placed Motherwell a fortnight ago.
The Glasgow side also booked their spot in next month’s FA Cup final last week with a 1-0 win over their fiercest rivals Rangers in the semi final, and will face second tier Inverness in the final for their shot at yet another domestic treble.
Celtic have lost just one domestic match this season in all competitions, coming against St Mirren back in September, and have won 30 of their 32 domestic matches since then.
Sunday’s hosts Hearts got back to winning ways in dramatic style in their final match of the regular season, defeating bottom of the table Ross County 6-1.
The win put an end to a six match losing streak for Steven Naismith’s side, though the Scot has only taken charge of two matches following the sacking of Robbie Neilson – two of those defeats in that streak came at the hands of Celtic.
The Edinburgh side finished the regular season in fourth place, which would be enough to qualify for next season’s Europa Conference League qualifying round, seven points below third place Aberdeen and four points clear of both Hibs and St Mirren.
Celtic and Postecoglou have won all of the last eight meetings between the two sides.
