The 4th yearly Geography in Government Awards took location on Wednesday 25th May 2022 at Geovation in London. It commemorates the work done by members of the location occupation throughout the public sector. The awards were provided by Nigel Clifford Deputy Chair of the Geospatial Commission.
This year had a record number of elections throughout the 6 classifications, the winners of those classifications were;

Automation of the updates to the Statistical Geographies for 2021 Census by Geography Data Products and Operations Team at Office for National Statistics

Digital Exclusion Risk Index by Digital addition, Digital & Research at Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
Modelling the location of land usage modification by Spatial Data Science, Systems Innovation and Futures, and Land Use Policy groups at Defra.

Green Infrastructure Mapping Database (Beta Version 1.1) by Green Infrastructure Standards Mapping group at Natural England, Natural Capital and Ecosystem Assessment (NCEA)

From all the classifications an total winner was chose, this year it was collectively won by;

The general winners will be provided their award at distinguished RGS (with IBG) medals and awards event in June.
