GB News: Crowd boos BBC after Nick Robinson interview clip

Nigel Farage’s live audience on his GB News show booed tonight when asked about the BBC.

The former Brexit Party leader was presenting his evening show from a pub in Bournemouth when he urged the audience to make their feelings known about the corporation.

Mr Farage played a clip from BBC Radio 4 this morning of Nick Robinson taking a swipe at GB News’s viewing figures during an interview with Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg, who is also a presenter at the channel.

In the interview on the flagship Today programme, BBC host Mr Robinson said to Mr Rees-Mogg: “You’re now a TV host.”

The Tory MP replied: “I am on GB News between 8pm and 9pm.”

Mr Robinson then said: “Well I have to tell our audience, because there are not that many people that watch.”

Speaking on his show tonight, Mr Farage – who is up for the News Presenter of the Year gong at the TRIC Awards – furiously hit back at the BBC Radio 4 presenter.

Mr Farage said: “So Nick Robinson, how many people would watch you if you didn’t work for the BBC? Who the hell do you think you are?

“The outright arrogance of these people at the BBC given the fact we all have to pay all this money to watch them and listen to them every year is a complete and absolute disgrace.

“It makes me even more determined that GB News succeeds as a news channel and that I win those awards this Friday.”

The former Ukip leader turned to his live audience and asked: “Tell me, what do you all think of the BBC as an audience?”

Members of the audience of the live show promptly began to loudly boo.

The laughing GB News presenter added “keep it clean” as the audience continued to jeer.
