Twilight jazz introspection from the Mongolian talent…

Mongolian artist Enji returns with new song ‘Taivshral’.
The songwriter grew up in a yurt family, with a deep sense of heritage. Drawn to jazz and its myriad possibilities, her work travels between these two poles, between an abiding love for her history and an awareness of where she could progress to.
Her 2021 album ‘Ursgal’ was remarkable, and it seems more new music is on the horizon. Online now, new song ‘Taivshral’ – it translates as ‘Relief’ – has a hushed, twilight feel, the playful vocal bouncing between guitar, delicate drums, and clarinet.
A potent return, it’s sung in Enji’s native Mongolian dialect, a divine miniature that shows where might travel to next.
Tune in now.
