A couple from Hawaii who were travelling the world on a BMW bike have had to put their trip on hold after their motorcycle was stolen in Liverpool.
Lydia Rolita, 49, and Stefan Mrozewski, 47, who had the bike shipped from their home in Hawaii, were visiting the city last week as part their 18 month journey.
They had parked the vehicle containing all of their belongings in a designated motorcycle space in Old Churchyard in the city centre on Friday.
CCTV footage shows two people riding around the area on an electric motorbike before making off with the BMW at around 2.45am on Saturday.
One person can be seen riding the couple’s bike, while the other drives away on the electric bike.

Merseyside Police received a report of the bike being stolen and have launched an enquiry into the incident.
Lydia told the Liverpool Echo her and her partner were planning to ride the motorbike down to South Africa and back.
She added they had saved up tens of thousands of pounds for the trip, with Lydia quitting her job as a doctor and Stefan quitting his job as an engineer.
She said: ‘We’re in shock and we’re very upset. We’re upset with ourselves for not taking precautions, not expecting a crime like this to happen and preparing for it.’
‘We’re devastated. We’re trying to take one day at a time.’
They have put up posters in the city centre which describe the bike as a black 2023 BMW with three aluminium panniers and a Hawaii license plate 627XRE.
Merseyside Police said: ‘We can confirm we received a report of a motorbike being stolen in Liverpool on Saturday 10 June.
‘It was reported that the parked motorbike was stolen from Old Churchyard, in Liverpool city centre, in the early hours of the morning.
