Bridgerton mania has swept the UK, being one of the most talked about, highly anticipated Netflix series. Series 3 has been considered the most popular yet of the period drama racking up over 28 million views in one week.
One such fan, Danait Seleba, 20 from North London, took her fandom to new heights posting a task on local services marketplace to Airtasker. The Pick-up and Delivery category on Airtasker is one of the top three task categories in London, but Danait’s request took these tasks to a whole new level. Requesting to make a grand entrance to a viewing party with friends, she took to the platform offering £180 for two people to carry her in a Sedan chair.
Two ‘Dukes’ who accepted the task, George E., 23, from Chesham, and Michael G., 34, from Wiltshire got suited and booted in regency attire and took their roles very seriously.
George, a part time model and professional boxer responded to Danait’s task saying, “This sounds awesome! I’d love to do this task for you, the Bridgerton style is very cool, I can bring a friend to assist. Available on the date and will make sure you make a great entrance!”
On completing the task, George said “This was a fun way to earn some extra cash, being a Boxer I thought my strength would be suited to the task and it definitely required some strength! There is such a variety of tasks on Airtasker and is a simple way to get things done and earn some additional income.”
Other fans have also turned to Airtasker with Bridgerton-themed tasks including Faith S. who is offering £100 for a Colin Bridgerton look-alike to attend a fancy-dress party with her, and Jessica E. who is offering £120 for a bespoke Bridgerton dress to be made.
With Season 4 in the works, Bridgerton fans are set for plenty of fresh drama and gossip with more opportunity to celebrate the historical romance series.
